Ayurveda is a holistic wellbeing for mind, body and spirit that works to restore your balance through, correct diet and lifestyle routine, plants and herbs, cooking tips for a better digestion, breathing exercise or pranayama healing, meditation, body cleanse, yoga and more.
The Vedic knowledge of Ayurveda originates from Vedabhoomi / India with divine origins it is a timeless functional medical system (the current Vedic period being 40,000 years old). Vedabhoomi translates as the Land of Knowledge and Ayurveda translates as the Knowledge of Longevity or Youthfulness, synchronistically Tír na nÓg translates as the Land of Youth where a very similar wealth of this knowledge once flourished here, the similarites between these two ancient tribal peoples wisdom is truly magnificent and today here at Tír na nÓg we embrace the ancient principles of Ayurveda promoting greater wellbeing among our valued customers and the wider community.
The oral tradition of Ayurveda tells us that it originated in the Atman as a thought in the mind of Brahma, the Creator. The Creator conveyed it to Daksha Prajapati, from Prajapati the entire knowledge was passed on to the Ashwini Kumaras (two stars in our cosmos) who in turn offered it to Indra, Indra then taught three physicians, Rishi Bharadvaja, Rishi Kashyapa and Rishi Dhanvantari. Rishi Atreya a disciple of Rishi Bharadvaja is the origin of the most ancient Ayurvedic text, the Caraka Samhita, this classical text is where Ayurveda’s internal medicine comes from today.
At its core Ayurveda explains in minute detail the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and spirit with the Cosmos, focusing on achieving balance and harmony within one Self and with Nature. It recognizes that each individual is unique, and their wellbeing depends on finding the right balance through the energetic managers in our body, known as doshas.
The three doshas in Ayurveda are Vata, Pitta, and Kapha, representing the five primary states of matter: Space, Wind, Fire, Water, and Earth. Understanding your predominant doshas helps us tailor our recommendations to suit your specific needs and preferences.
This Vedic knowledge was received from Vaidya Atreya who created the European Institute of Vedic Studies in Switizerland, receiving this knowledge is one thing, it is the correct application of Truthful Knowledge which is then called Wisdom.
